Live-aboard Life | Chuck Warren Marine Industry Copywriter

As a life-long, passionate boater, I always wanted to try living aboard my 40-foot Sea Ray sedan bridge so when the opportunity appeared three years ago, I jumped at the chance. I sold most of my belongings and went the minimalist route, downsizing to what would fit in the limited spaces on the boat and a little extra in a storage unit in town.

I immediately loved it. The peace, the constant rocking, even the stretch and release of the dock lines all added to the relaxing ambiance of marina life.

Yes, storms happen and they can make life interesting. Having a dog onboard who needs to go potty when the wind is whipping at 40 knots can make for an adventurous afternoon, or worse – midnight stroll.

But, after one season, I couldn’t wait to get back to the boat the following summer. 4 1/2 month in a house over the winter was enough for me – all I could think about was being back on my boat.

This coming summer will be the 4th season I’ll spend living on my boat. I thought for a while I might give it up and go back to being a homeowner, but I’m not ready yet.

There is nothing I would rather do than spend time on the water. I also love to write copy, articles, and content about boats and boating which makes me a great choice as your marine industry copywriter.
